Two Internet Tools To Improve Your Writing

This blog post is brief. I just want to give the two writing tools that I use to improve my writing prowess. I’m aware that as of now I am not that grammatically inclined. My prose needs a lot of improvement.

How could I tell you this? Am I belittling myself? Nope, I don’t think so! I really believe there’s a thin line between having a lack of self-esteem to being true to one’s self.

If you’re like me then these two tools can help you also.

If you’re a WordPress blogger, then you know that you can use its own proofreader tool. Most of the time that’s not enough. Using these other two tools will maximize that WordPress’ proofreading prowess.

With no further ado, here’s the two powerful writing tools.

Writing tool to improve your sentences.

Hemingway’s way with sentence — bold and clear!

1. Hemingway App

If a writer knows enough about what he is writing about, he may omit things that he knows. The dignity of movement of an iceberg is due to only one ninth of it being above water.

~Ernest Hemingway

I think the creators of this app got the idea from that quote above and named it after him. Sometimes we write sentences that were too complicated. The truth is we can write in a simpler manner. The Hemingway app will tell you if you just created hard-to-read sentences. Then, the app will give you alternatives.

Hey Ginger! Help me with my grammar.

2. Ginger Software

This site saves me a bunch of embarrassing write-ups. Helped me with its grammar checker and sentence rephraser. I can now write with more confidence knowing that the app will save me from shameful constructions of written ideas.

I checked the last blog that I created with Ginger Software. I’m quite amused (yes, that’s the word) on the amount of grammatical errors. I moved on though.

This just makes me realize how essential now to me this app was.

The Best Writing Tool

You can bet with your life that I always use these two writing tools. You can also download desktop versions for more power. Unfortunately, the laptop that I use can’t handle that power.

Though I can’t just rely to software The human proof reader is still the best the help. And that, my friend is self-explanatory.

Happy writing! 🙂

P.S. Do you want to look into the power of your English? Try this English Quiz. I got 15 correct answers out of 16. Not bad.. 🙂
